2024-2025 Company Auditions

Columbus Dance Theatre, a contemporary ballet company, professional training school, and arts presenter, located in Columbus, Ohio, announces auditions for Trainee, Apprentice, and full Company positions as well as entrance into our Intensive Training Program positions for the 2024-2025 Season.

Columbus Dance Theatre performs in its home theatre, The J. Nick Marzella Theater, as well as in the Lincoln Theatre and other venues throughout central Ohio and the United States. CDT’s repertoire ranges from classical ballet, contemporary and modern.

The CDT season begins in September and continues through the end of May. Contract offerings are based on experience and include Trainee positions that work with the company and school, unpaid and paid Apprentice positions, as well as paid Company positions. Dancers work 5 days each week with 3-4 hours of rehearsal daily in addition to Company ballet class. Trainees and Apprentices perform in the Company repertoire. 

• Auditions will be held at Columbus Dance Theatre, 592 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, MARCH 16th, from 2:00-4:00 Pm.*

*Strong consideration is given to dancers who attend the March audition.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Age: 16 years old for Trainee/Apprentice consideration and 18 years old for Company consideration.

- Strong ballet technique required. Women: pointe required. Ability to move in a variety of contemporary styles is beneficial.

- Provide a head shot and/or full body shot as well as a detailed resume to erika@columbusdancetheatre.com to reserve your place.

-Admittance into CDT’s ITP Program is limited to dancers between ages 10-25. CDT’s Intensive Training Program is designed for serious students, preparing for careers in dance in the arts.
