What brought you here? I auditioned for CDT and really enjoyed the class and rep, and thought it would be a challenge and help me grow outside of my comfort zone

What is your favorite ballet step? Renversé

What is your least favorite ballet step? Developpé Devant

Outside of dance, what are your hobbies? Playing the piano, cooking/baking, lifting weights, taking naps

What brand of ballet/pointe shoes do you wear? Freed

What is your favorite random fact? Listening to music can decrease pain and help people recall memories even with brain damage

What is the worst job you’ve ever had? Cleaning my college’s dance studios at 10pm after rehearsals

What is the first career you dreamed of having as a kid? A musician

What is one thing you wish you were better at? Drawing/art in general or singing

What is one of your pet peeves? Slow walkers

Jenna Swartz

Jenna Swartz began her dance training in Central Pennsylvania before attending Mercyhurst University (Erie, PA) where she graduated with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Pre-Health Science.

While in school, Jenna performed as a company member with SoMar Dance Works (Erie, PA). After graduating she joined Seiche Dance Collective (Erie, PA) as a company artist, performing classical, contemporary, and jazz works, as well as debuting original choreography.  While living in Erie, Jenna also choreographed for the Erie Dance Film Festival, worked as a remote artist for Dissonance Dance Theatre (Philadelphia, PA), and served as the rehearsal director and choreographer for Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre, where her choreography was chosen to be presented at the Regional Dance America Festival in 2023.

While at CDT, Jenna has enjoyed performing works by Jaime Kotrba, Seth Wilson, Stella Kane, Edward Taketa, and Martine Clark, as well choreographing for Dancers Making Dances.

Jenna is excited for her third season with CDT and to continue teaching in the YCD and ITP programs!
