Columbus Dance Theatre Announces it's

2024-25 SEASON

CREATE: LINE|SHAPE|SPACE

Columbus Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director, Seth Wilson and Executive Director, Jaime Kotrna are thrilled to announce the company's 26th season, titled CREATE: LINE|SHAPE|SPACE. "CDT is excited to enter a new chapter of innovative dance works as we embark on an incredible period of creative growth and artistic exploration," says Wilson. "We are fortunate to have such talented support and are working to lift our artistry to new levels."

The season opens with a longtime favorite, “Dancers Making Dances,” at CDT’s J. Nick Marzella Family Theater from October 11th to 13th. Visual artists from the community will be selected to work closely with dancer-choreographers to produce original pieces. “We will hold a gallery during each performance and are excited to open our doors to more artists in the community,” adds Kotrba.

This year, we are excited to celebrate the 4th anniversary of “Wonderment,” featuring live music by Converging Arts Columbus at the historic Lincoln Theatre on December 5th and 6th. "Our goal was to create a holiday tradition that resonates with all cultures, and the Lincoln Theatre's rich history and ambiance perfectly enhance that vision,”says Wilson.

Last season, CDT premiered “Experiment 2: An Immersive Art Experience” to sold-out audiences. This season, we are excited to bring Experiment 2 back on February 7th and 8th, followed by our Annual Benefit on the 8th. "We aimed to create an experience that captivates beyond just dance enthusiasts, and we succeeded. Experiment 2 is a journey through emotions and senses that will leave you speechless and yearning for more,” explains Wilson.

From April 11th to 13th, we will present, “Homegrown 3”, our homage to choreographers native to or based in Columbus. This year, we are honored to feature Alfred Dove, director of Dove Art Programs; Gamal Brown, a community leader and choreographer; and Emily Bass-Glinsk, a native choreographer and educator. Executive Director Jaime Kotrba and Artistic Director Seth Wilson will also premiere new works. “We are excited and fortunate to have such talent right here in our community,” says Kotrba.

Originally set on the company in 2017, CDT is thrilled to reinvent and reimagine the adventures of, “The Three Musketeers” at the Lincoln Theatre on May 31st. This fun and family-friendly ballet will bring our season to a spectacular close. You won’t want to miss it!
